Gertrica Harris

Family Coach

Gertrica serves as a Family Coach at Partners in Opportunity, where she works alongside parents to help families set and achieve goals that create brighter futures for their children. Through individualized coaching, advocacy, and ongoing support, Gertrica partners with families as they navigate challenges, build stability, and access opportunities that help break the cycle of poverty.

With more than a decade of experience supporting children and families, Gertrica brings expertise in family advocacy, case management, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and community resource navigation. She has dedicated her career to helping families identify their strengths, overcome barriers, and connect with the tools and support systems needed to thrive.

Before joining Partners in Opportunity, Gertrica served as a Family Advocate at the Child Advocacy Center of North Texas, where she supported children and caregivers through challenging circumstances by providing advocacy, education, emotional support, and connections to community resources. She previously provided wraparound services for youth and families with complex needs, helping parents and caregivers develop individualized plans, strengthen support systems, and work collaboratively with schools, therapists, and community partners. Her past experience has equipped her with a deep understanding of the challenges families face and the importance of partnering with parents to create safe, stable environments where children can succeed.

A Mississippi native, Gertrica earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Delta State University. She is passionate about building trusting relationships with families and believes that when parents are supported and empowered, children have greater opportunities to reach their full potential.
